The Last Summer Days

Now you can start to feel that the autumn is around the corner, but we have had a couple of beautiful summer days lately. Liam and I try to make the most out of them and spend a lot of time outdoor. You have to enjoy the summer before it's over! :-) Luckily we have a family trip to Malta to look forward to in September. We felt that we wanted to extend the summer a little bit and booked a week on Malta.

Fresh prawns, mango salad, cold white wine, strawberries and champagne outside on the balcony. These things really give me summer feelings!

Summer Cake

I have baked a summer cake. It's a vanilla sponge cake, filled with sliced fresh strawberries, meringue butter cream and lime mousse. The cake is covered by marzipan and for decoration I made marzipan bees and some flowers. The fresh taste of the lime mousse is a perfect match with the strawberries. Yummie!

Villa Malla

Daddy is back at work again in the North Sea and we have had a fantastic time together during his weeks off. We made a family trip to Villa Malla, a restaurant with its' own white sand beach in Filtvet. The place is special and you get the feeling that you are in a much warmer country than Norway. The restaurant is serving a Mediterranean buffet. The food is tasty, but to be honest it's a bit overpriced. The location of the restaurant, on the other hand, is perfect. You can sit and enjoy a glass of wine while looking at the boats sailing on the Oslofjord.

Junkön

The last days in northern Sweden were spent in Luleå archipelago. We had booked two cabins on the island Junkön. It was nice and calm out there. We went swimming in the ocean, tried out the sauna in the harbour, picked arctic raspberries and explored the island by foot.

Luppioberget

Me and my darling had some time on our own while Liam's grandparents were watching him. We decided to visit the mountain Luppioberget outside Övertorneå (close to the Finish border) and try the restaurant they have up there. You have a nice view from the mountain, you can see a lot of forest, a few houses and the river which is the border between Sweden and Finland.

The restaurant is called Utblick and they were serving delicious food. We were there in the middle of the week and luckily we had booked a table in advance, because the restaurant was full.

Northern Sweden

We have spent a week in northern Sweden with Liam's grandparents. Mom and dad had time to go running in the woods and we also climbed the little mountain Storlappberget in Överkalix. The view was nice from up there!

Liam learned to move around while we were in Sweden and he explored his grandparents house. My little boy is growing up so fast!

When you are in Sweden you have to wear Swedish diapers.

One of my cousins is expecting a baby in December and I decided to surprise her with a little gift. I made a cake of diapers for her little baby. It actually turned out quite nice.
