Fuglevik

We have been out on a little family trip again. This time we were invited to our friends' family cabin in Fuglevik outside Moss. They have a very nice cabin with a wonderful location next to the Oslofjord. Our friends have twin boys born in the same year as Liam. They were born in January and Liam in November, so Liam is still a little bit too young to play with them, but it will be perfect in the future with two friends in the same age. :-) The kids enjoyed some time in their "swimming pools" and we were building with Lego. In the evening the grown ups had a nice barbeque dinner.

Aurland

We decided to have an overnight stop on the way home from the Nordfjord area. We chose to stop in Aurland, and it turned out to be a very wise decision. A scenic road took us up to the lookout point Stegastein, where we enjoyed a spectacular view over the Aurland fjord. In the evening we had dinner outdoor in the hotel restaurant. A very nice ending to our little vacation in Norway.

Måløy

Before leaving the Nordfjord area we spent some time around Måløy. We visited the Refvik beach (without going swimming!) and we checked out the famous rock Kannesteinen just outside Måløy. It is shaped by the ocean and looks like a tree. The last night in the area was spent in Kråkenes lighthouse. A different and exciting overnight place!

Selje

The next overnight stop on our road trip was in Selje. We didn't know anything about the place before we went there, and it turned out to be a nice surprise. We stayed in a hotel located next to the beautiful white sand beach. The water is pretty cold in the North Sea, but with such a beach outside our hotel, I just had to go swimming. I was the only one on the beach and I can admit that it was a quick plunge in the sea. :-) We also went out on a boat trip to the island of Selja, where you can find ruins of a monastery.

Stryn Summer Ski Center

Things you have to do during your summer vacation: Go skiing! At least if the opportunity knocks. There are a few places in Norway where you can go skiing in the summer months. One of them is Stryn Summer Ski Center. We were in the area and I felt that I just had to go there for some hours of downhill skiing, especially since I didn't have a single day of downhill skiing last winter. I have a very nice and understanding boyfriend and of course he said yes when I asked him if I could go skiing for a couple of hours while he took care of Liam. I was really lucky with the weather and had a wonderful time in the slopes.

Loen and Lodalen

Loen is a small village located where the valley Lodalen meets the fjord. The place is popular by tourists due to the spectacular nature in the valley and the Kjenndal glacier. We spent two nights in Loen and I really liked hotel Alexandra. They have a large swimming area where we went with Liam. He enjoyed his time, for the first time, in the children's swimming pool.

Sandane - Oldedalen

When we arrived in the Nordfjord area, which was the destination for our roadtrip, we stayed at a very nice hotel in Sandane. The hotel is called Gloppen Hotell and is a member of historical hotels in Norway. It is famous for its' local food and in the evening the grown ups enjoyed a nice three course dinner.

The next stop on our journey was Loen, but before we went there we drove through Oldedalen. A beautiful valley where the Briksdal glacier is located.

Rondane Høyfjellshotell

We have been out on a little roadtrip here in Norway. We took the car and drove to the western part of Norway. A beautiful landscape with fjords and mountains. On the way there we made a stop in Rondane where we stayed at Rondane Høyfjellshotell and went out for a little walk in the mountains. We were in Rondane in 2014 also, but this was the first time for Liam.
